Philippians 3:12-16

(message)

12-14I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.

15-16So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you'll see it yet! Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it.

So what are your goals? What is in front of you? Do you have such goals or vision of where you want to be?

I would like to encourage you today and echo Paul’s Words in Philippians,

1.      We don’t always feel we have it all together, or have it made.

Sometimes in our lives, it is one step at a time. It is one direction at a time. We don’t always get the full picture ahead of us. But our feelings have very little to do with what God is doing in our lives. Most often times of being uncomfortable is the very time God infuses strength and power in you.

2.      But Paul says, “I am well on my way”…

He is reaching out for Christ. Doing what He loves to do, his passion, his calling. We are on a journey that doesn’t take us to the finish line immediately. We must run the course and as long as you are on your way..That is all that matters! Keep trucking!

3.      Paul says that he is not an expert on all this.

We don’t have to be perfect, or an expert at what we are called to do. He was simply obedient and God made up for the lack. Don’t let you imperfections keep you from running the race in front of you! Focus on what is right, not on what is wrong!

4.      But He has his eyes on the goal, which is Jesus.

Jesus is always beckoning us forward. Nothing in your past belongs in your future. Jesus is before you, not behind you. So keep looking forward, eyes on Him. Jesus must be the goal, as he is the author and finisher of our faith. He must be what we are after and He will bring everything we need as we surrender to His leading!

5.      We are off and running, no turning Back!

Have you ever run a race and stopped in the middle and just went back? NO! You are out to finish the race. Not after perfection, or to be the best, but to finish. This is the attitude Paul had and that is the tenacity we need to have. No matter what that once you are off and running, there is no turning back! The shift has occurred and there is only BEFORE you greatness, not behind you. Never turn back or never give up!

6.      Keep focused on the goal!

Keeping Jesus as the center of your vision will keep you on the right track! Get around people with like passions, visions and goals. Negative people will keep you down, from moving forward and create doubt and unbelief. It is important that paul says “lets keep focused”, encouraging others to come with him. Be that person that inspires, not depresses!

7.      Those that want everything God has for us!

There is a people arising that says, I want the best God has for us. We are to unite, come together and run the race together, not in competition but in unity, helping one another.

8.      If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you'll see it yet!

Not seeing the goal yet? Don’t give up! Keep seeking, keep knocking, and keep going after Jesus. I pray that He drop revelation in your spirit and that one day the “aha” moment will happen and your vision is cleared and you will see where you are to go. It begins with movement. It begins with seeking, and God promises you will find.

9.      Lastly, now that we are on the right track, we must stay on it!

One of the hardest things to do is to find the track, but once you do, you stay on it, till you get more direction, or other instructions. But your goal should be to stay on track. Sometimes, we need to re evaluate our situations, make some changes, change our goals, or vision, but as you seek God, don’t get discouraged, because He makes a way where there is none! He can make a path for you that you couldn’t even imagine!

10.  This is your race! This is our race! Lets finish together! I am here to help!
